110626 SHINee's Japanese debut single "Replay" sets a new record

SHINee recently performed at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan Awards and on Happy Music Japan.

Second only to Japanese idol group AKB48's Atsuko Maeda, SHINee beat out Japanese artists AAA, T.M.Revolution, and Dir En Grey on Oricon's daily singles chart with their Japanese debut single "Replay -君は僕のeverything-".

With 50,270 copies sold on the day of its release, "Replay" propelled
SHINee to the number two position on the Oricon Daily Chart. The first shipment of SHINee's "Replay" included 120,000 copies, setting a new record in Japan for first day shipments by K-pop artists. SM Entertainment label mates Super Junior and SNSD recorded just over 100,000 and 80,000 copies for first day shipments, respectively.

The boys' popularity has not let up, as they have maintained their number two position on the Oricon Daily Chart with 4,912 additional copies sold on June 25.
