110628 [news] SHINee Maypole Artwork T-Shirts Sold Out

SHINee’s artwork t-shirts have been sold out one week after casual brand Maypole released them.

The items were designed by SHINee members in the theme of a holiday they want to have and released in the market as a limited edition.

The t-shirt has been a hot item for SHINee fans as it includes each member’s autograph and comes with each member’s large-size bromide poster.

According to a source in Maypole, there are even customers who came to buy the t-shirts from afar. He said, “Some fans purchase not only their favorite member’s t-shirt but also all the other members’.

Although the artwork t-shirts are released in an limited edition, Maypole have decided to extend the sales by receiving online reservations until the end of June.

They plan to gain more new young customers through SHINee as they release the second limited edition aimed at the month of September when SHINee’s full-scale Japanese activities will begin.

I heard Japanese fans come to buy the artwork t-shirts in bulk. And I don’t know what they mean by the last sentence. Does it mean they will release the next single? Or is this inaccurate information?

110627 [news] SHINee’s Debut Single Sells 90K & Makes New Oricon Record

Popular idol group SHINee made a signal for its daebak march in Japan.

SHINee released its Japanese debut single “Replay – you are my everything” on 22 June. The debut single, a Japanese version of their Korean debut song “Noona Is So Pretty,” sold a total of 91,000 copies in its first week and was placed 2nd on the Oricon weekly singles chart for July 4th. It is remarkable because they broke a record in the category of Korean group’s debut single in Japan.

Beast’s “Shock”, MBlaq’s “Your Love”, and Super Junior’s “Bonamana” have also been placed 2nd on the Oricon chart, but SHINee is the first group whose debut single sold almost 100K in its first week.

SHINee also attracted the attention of the public when they performed live at the Abbey Road Studios in London for the first time as Asian artists. They are planning to continue their promotional activities for “Replay” in Japan.

110627 [News] Taemin’s Growth Blast Hot Topic

SHINee Taemin’s growth blast is now a hot topic.

On 26 June, KBS2 ‘Chulbal Dream Team Season 2′ aired the second round  of “With Asian Stars”, a project to support the 2011 Daegu IAAF World  Championships.

The Dream Team’s first player for the iron man pentathlon was
SHINee  Taemin. Taemin attracted attention for his more mature manly  appearance in a shorter hair style and well-defined features. Taemin  said it is his first time playing the pentathlon, but surprised everyone  by calmly completing it in 1 minute 11.17 seconds, the fastest.

Taemin said, “I thought I should win as I was representing our team,  so I did my best.” SHINee Minho also admitted Taemin’s competence.

Netizens’ responses to Taemin’s growth blast were: “He’s become a  man. My heart is beating fast,” “He’s even good at sports. Is there  anything he can’t do well? “Noona’s heart is fluttering, Taemin-ah.”

110626 SHINee on Oricon for June 26th

Posted Image
They dropped all the way down to 4th place! :C  Well, we can still look at the bright side. Since June 22nd, they had been in 2nd place. That's 4 days in a row! We must remember that although SHINee has been in the music business for 3 years, they've only been in Japan for 5 days now. To put it into perspective, think of it like this: How many times do you see a rookie group competing for first place in the Korean music shows? Only the best groups are even able to make it onto the top ten! Don't worry, SHINee's future is still very bright, despite this set back. Fighting, SHINee World!

110626 [report] MTV VMAJ Breaking News SHINee Part

SHINee, who received loud screams even during their stand-by, were all in black skinny jeans.
Wearing colorful tops, they performed “Replay – you are my everything,” their Japanese debut single released recently.

It is a song not showy, but warm and deeply touching. Taemin and Key sometimes stared at the audience with smiles on their faces, and Minho and Onew expressed feelings of the song with rhythmical steps. A strong vocalist Jonghyun’s ending part adlib was overwhelming! Each of the five members emitted his own charms to the maximum and left a strong impression of “SHINee as a new trend” on the audience.

When they bowed low and walked out waving hands after finishing their stage, big roars filled the stadium for the five members.

110626 SHINee's Japanese debut single "Replay" sets a new record

SHINee recently performed at the MTV Video Music Aid Japan Awards and on Happy Music Japan.

Second only to Japanese idol group AKB48's Atsuko Maeda, SHINee beat out Japanese artists AAA, T.M.Revolution, and Dir En Grey on Oricon's daily singles chart with their Japanese debut single "Replay -君は僕のeverything-".

With 50,270 copies sold on the day of its release, "Replay" propelled
SHINee to the number two position on the Oricon Daily Chart. The first shipment of SHINee's "Replay" included 120,000 copies, setting a new record in Japan for first day shipments by K-pop artists. SM Entertainment label mates Super Junior and SNSD recorded just over 100,000 and 80,000 copies for first day shipments, respectively.

The boys' popularity has not let up, as they have maintained their number two position on the Oricon Daily Chart with 4,912 additional copies sold on June 25.

110624 [news] SM Stock Price Goes Up with SHINee Effect

SM Entertainment’s stock price made a sharp rise by 6%. SHINee’s debut album sales made 2nd on the day it was released. 120,000 copies of the debut single were made for the first shipments, which means its marketing is made through Youtube. It has a positive effect on SM Entertainment’s sales.

[from SBSCNBC

SM Entertainment stocks are showing strong as the visible results of “New Korean Wave” are confirmed.

In the Kosdaq market on June 24, SM stocks are being traded at 19,400 Won (currently 9:13 a.m.), 2.65% up from the previous day.

Daewoo Securities presented SM’s stock goal price as 30,000 Won with a comment that SM artists are making good sales overseas.

[from Yonhap News

cr: jujugal

SM stock price rebounded three days after its fall thanks to the
SHINee effect as SHINee’s debut single is ranked 2nd on the Oricon chart.
On 24 June, SM finished at 20,150 Won, 6.61% (1,250 Won) up from the previous day, making the highest increase rate this year.

SM group SHINee was ranked 2nd on the Oricon chart with their debut single “Replay – you are my everything” released on 22 June. 120,000 copies were out for the first shipments.

Daewoo Securities forecasts SM’s album sales in Japan will increase to 2.02 million copies, double up from 2009, to bring an increase of royalty income.

Kim Changkwon, Daewoo Securities researcher, analyzed, “BoA started her first concert tour at the 8th quarter after releasing her first album in 2001, but DBSK at the 7th in 2004, and SNSD at the 4th last year. SHINee will start their concert tour in July, one month after their debut.”

Kim explained, “Having a tour in arenas accommodating more than 10,000 people means they’ve become popular singers who can make a commercial success. It is taking a shorter time for SM singers to become popular singers, and their concert scale and album sales are also making a big growth.”

SHINee is the ‘Beatles of Asia!” “There hasn’t been such a fever since the Beatles.”

Japanese Sports Newspapers Highlighted SHINee’s showcase at ‘Abbey Road Studios’ in London!

K-pop fever in Europe to be introduced as well.

Japanese sports newspapers highlighted ‘JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION in LONDON’ which was held at ‘Abbey Road Studios’ in London on 19th and has created high expectations.

On 21st, 6 Japanese sports newspapers, including Sports Hochi, Junichi Sports, Sankei Sports, Sports Nippon, Nikkan Sports and Daily Sports published extensive reports of SHINee’s showcase held at ‘Abbey Road Studios’ in London, UK.

In particular, Sports Hochi described about 1,000 of fans waiting in front of ‘Abbey Road Studios’ by quoting from officials that “There hasn’t been such a fever since the Beatles.” And also, they gave a special meaning by explaining that “to perform at a sacred place where masters, such as Stevie Wonder and Rod Stewart, have performed is the first milestone for Asian artists. SHINee has taken the first step towards making their mark in the global music scene.”

Moreover, by mentioning SHINee’s speech, “we wish to go down in history just like the Beatles,” and also mentioning the success of SMTOWN LIVE concert in Paris, they stated that SHINee’s popularity in London and K-pop’s popularity has been growing remarkably.

Onew: Finally we debut in Japan! I want to show our cool performances to all.

Taemin: We should be well-prepared to do so! I hope you look forward to it as we try to show perfect performances.

Key: Our debut song “Replay – you are my everything” is a Japanese  version of our
Korean debut song. I’m nervous how Japanese fans will  think of it.

Jonghyun: There is this part, “She doesn’t know my true feelings~,”  in the lyrics. It is my favorite part. It expresses the song’ s theme  fully.

Key: I like that part too. It’s a totally “moving (in Japanese)”  point (laugh). The M/V shows a story of five of us in love with the same  girl…What if that really happens!?

Onew: Eh!? But our favorite types are different, so it won’t happen (laugh)!!

Jonghyun: If so, how would you appeal your charm? As for me, maybe  frankness? But I’m not good at appealing to a girl I like. If I’d try  to, I’d probably say, “I’ll sing a song for you”…

Key: Me too. Maybe frankness. I want to show the way I am to a girl I like as I do to my friends.

Minho: “Being sincere and sometimes playful” is maybe my charm (shy).  And…being competitive? To a girl I like, I want to be by her side when  she has some trouble.

Onew: I think my appeal point is “being friendly.” To a girl I like, I think I’ll try to strike up a conversation.

Taemin: Hmm, my strong point is maybe “working hard for whatever”? So to a girl I like, I will work hard to make her happy!

Key: Oh My God (laugh)!

Jonghyun: If I have to compete with Taemin, I’ll just give up (laugh).

Onew: (laugh) We are debuting in Japan. Do you have any memories of your birthday related to our debut?

Jonghyun: I remember everything about my birthday parties I  celebrated with fans.
Especially this year’s birthday party was an  opportunity I was able to talk with fans after a 3~4 month term because  of my leg injury.

Minho: When I turned 20, I got on a plane the day before my birthday.  But when I arrived in Korea, it was the day after my birthday because  of time difference. I realized how precious a birthday is! I’ll try to  remember all your birthdays!!
