Returning to the music scene after 1 year and 5 months, IU held a comeback showcase for her 3rd album “Modern Times” on the 7th.
For this album, IU worked with several artists such as Lee Minsoo, Yoonsang, Yang Heeun, Choi Baekho, and Gain. SHINee’s lead vocalist Jonghyun gifted IU the song “Gloomy Clock” which he composed and wrote himself. While Jonghyun has written a handful of lyrics for SHINee’s songs, it’s the first time he’s officially showing off his composition skills.
IU shared her humble words at the showcase, “Even though I’m in the same relative age group as Gain and Jonghyun, it’s the first time I’ve worked with them,” and “I’m really thankful. Jonghyun personally gave me a song, so a song that I like was made.”
Jonghyun showed his support for IU on the 8th by tweeting, “IU jjangjjang girl. The MV is cool!” He jokingly showed his competitive side in saying, “Let's see each other on the weekends. Let's compete. It's a quarrel,” and didn’t forget to tweet about SHINee’s upcoming MV.
