SM Artists Escorted by Security at New York's JFK Airport

On October 22, hundreds of fans were disappointed when SM Entertainment artists SHINee, DBSK, Super Junior, and f(x) were secretly and speedily escorted out of JFK Airport, without exiting through the gates at which the fans had long and eagerly waited.

SHINee, DBSK, Super Junior, and f(x) are currently in New York City for “SMTOWN in New York.” They arrived on October 22 in the afternoon at JFK airport, where around 500 fans excitedly waited for them.

The fans had found out when the singers were to arrive on Saturday, and had traveled far and early just to catch a quick and precious glimpse of their favorite stars. They had prepared signs and chants to show their love and anticipation for the SMTOWN concert that will be held the next day.

To their disappointment however, the airport security and police decided that for safety, the artists would be escorted quickly out of the airport, away from the waiting fans’ eyes. The artists traveled internally through the airport into a waiting bus that quickly sped away from the airport as fans tried to catch up.

Representative of the entertainment company stated, “We were surprised by the number of fans waiting. We wanted to leave properly through the gates in order to not disappoint them but the airport security advised that we should take another route out of the airport. The singers were particularly disappointed that they couldn’t see their fans.

“SMTOWN in New York ” is being held at Madison Square Garden’s main arena that houses 15,000 seats. SM artists will be the first Asian artists to hold a concert at the main arena. SNSD will also perform the English version of their hot new release, “The Boys” for the first time at this concert.

You can catch the live stream of this concert at SMTOWN’s official Facebook account.
