[NEWS] 130308 SHINee Turns Into Sock Puppets, Fan Falls Out of Chair at Video Chat Event

It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to chat with your favorite idol star, and as SHINee’s recent Google+ Hangout event was one such rare occasion, fans got creative.

SHINee was the first star to participate in A-Pop Star Week’s Google+ Hangout event on March 8, and from sock puppet show remakes of SHINee’s music videos to instrumental covers of the idol group’s songs, the fans pulled out all the stops to show their love for SHINee to the boys directly.

Select fans were also invited to watch SHINee chat with their foreign fans live at the Incheon International Airport CGV.

Morgan, a 17-year-old fan from France played a cover of SHINee’s Jojo on her harp and said the opportunity to chat with the idol group was all the more meaningful because it was her birthday to which Jonghyun said, “Since she gifted us with ‘Jojo,’ we’ll sing happy birthday as a gift.” The boys then proceeded to serenade her with the birthday song.

When another fan showed SHINee an intricate drawing of SHINee’s album cover, revealing it took her 20 hours to draw, Key said, “I thought she was showing us the [actual] album cover.”

But when it came to fan service, SHINee’s maknae Taemin stole the show.

When Naomi, a Canadian fan, asked Taemin who he would most like to meet, he answered “It’s you,” not only causing Naomi to fall out of her chair but the audience watching in the theater to break out into screams.

The SHINee members appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the chat as well as the fan submissions, not only bobbing their heads along to the song covers shown during the chat session but actively asking the fans questions as well.

By the event’s end, spirits were high, and leader Onew said it best, when he expressed his gratitude in a final message to fans, saying “It seems like everyone is loving us in many ways, so thank you.” Watch the full video below!
