It’s been announced that SM Ent will be producing a drama based upon remaking a popular Japanese comic. Remaking Japanese comics into a drama will probably be similar to “You Are Beautiful” or “Boys Over Flowers.”
After getting such an announcement, I’ve been pondering. SM might have thought “JYPE produced so we’re sure we can as well.” However, they should remember some things.
Can SM actually produce a drama?
They might have thought “JYP did it, so can we.” However, wasn’t solely JYP’s production. It was able to reach success only because of BaeYongJoon’s help in the production. BaeYongJoon’s agency consists of KimHyunJoong from SS501 and Fly To The Sky’s Hwanhee. The rest of the people in the agency are actors and actresses. The drama was able to be successful only because such an agency was involved in it.
Honestly, starred many idols but had no actual storyline. Furthermore, because the drama focused too much on Suzy(who belongs to JYPe) and IU(one of the most popular idol), EunJung’s role was extremely confusing. Even the ending was too dull. might be a success in promotion, but a failure in the production and plot.
Most of Japanese comic remade dramas have been successful. However, considering SM ent does not have any proper actors and actresses, can the production work out?
Who will be acting for SM’s drama?
In the one that got most of the attention in the aspect of acting was not IU, EunJung, nor Suzy, but Park JinYoung. His acting was amazingly natural. However, as a whole, had a lot to improve on acting.
Kim SooHyun was the only one that actually could act well. EunJung and TaecYeon, who have previously acted in other dramas, were okay in acting.
It is true that SM Ent has more actors and actresses more than JYPe does. Choi SiWon has almost turned into an actor instead of a singer. Kim HeeChul also has experiences through participating in sitcoms. Besides these two, who else?
SNSD’s YoonA acts better than most of the people in SM Ent. DBSK’s YunHo and ChangMin’s acting received negative comments. SM Ent does get praised for its vocal and performance, but its acting mostly receives negative comments.
