[NEWS] EXO covers SHINee’s ‘Why So Serious?’ on KBS Music Bank

On July 5th, KBS Music Bank celebrated their mid-year episode with special performances from various idols, with SHINee’s juniors, EXO, covering their second single of the year, Why So Serious.

This is not the first time the 12-member boy group has paid tribute to their seniors. EXO had already impressed fans before with their previous rendition of ‘Lucifer’ in Hong Kong last year, during the 2012 MAMA Awards. This time round, they prepared their rendition of Why So Serious.

As SHINee is known for their flawless vocals and complex choreography, many wondered if their juniors would be able to do them proud. And indeed, they did. The five EXO members, D.O, Chen, Luhan, Sehun, and Baekhyun, pulled off the performance well as they belted out the high notes and the intense moves.

D.O, Chen, and Baekhyun earned praises for being able to hit the high notes that were sung by Onew, Jonghyun, and Taemin respectively. Luhan, who took the role of Key, stood out with this unique vocals. Sehun, on the other hand, pulled off Minho’s rap parts with ease.

Members Onew and Jonghyun also did little to hide their love and pride for their juniors. Before the broadcast, Onew tweeted, “Our EXO friends are the best...” And afterwards, Jonghyun shared a YouTube link of the performance and commented, “Clap clap clap!! Good job, EXO!! Cute friends!!”
