K-Pop fans, mark your calendars. SM Entertainment’s artistes will be taking our little red dot by storm on Nov 23, in the biggest concert in Singapore yet with a capacity of 18,000.
Set to take place on the world’s largest floating stage, SMTOWN Live Tour III in Singapore will be the first concert that will take place at The Float @ Marina Bay. Organisers Running Into The Sun have teased that mosh pit ticket holders can expect to get as close as three meters away from the stage. The 120-metre long stage will also house mosh pits for over 5,000 fans who want to get into the thick of the action, a mere heartbeat away from their idols.
Fans can expect to be wowed by the four-hour long extravaganza, jam-packed with special effects such as pyrotechnics, flying stunts and water features. The stellar line-up of artistes will include wildly popular acts BoA, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation and SHINee. Other artistes under the SM stable whose attendance is currently unconfirmed include Kangta, Zhang Liyin, CSJH, DBSK, TRAX, f(x) and newly-debuted EXO.
SMTOWN has become a massively popular concert tour which has been staged in prestigious international arenas such as Madison Square Garden, New York, which was transformed into a throbbing arena filled with 15,000 screaming fans. Zenith de Paris in France has also played host to the concert tour, which housed 14,000 fans.
“SMTOWN is truly the mother of all K-Pop concerts and we’re madly excited to bring this to Singapore. As a massive concert that has only been staged so far at iconic international venues, we hope this concert will impact Singapore and the region to bring progressive music and quality productions here,” says Beatrice-Chia Richmond, Creative Director of Running Into The Sun.
The world tour kicked off in Anaheim, California on May 20 this year and has since travelled to Taiwan, Japan and Seoul. Singapore is their sixth confirmed stop and is expected to attract audiences from Singapore and around the region.
Ticketing information, including pricing, will be released next week by organiser Running Into The Sun.
There will be a three-day priority booking period for OCBC Card members and owners of Samsung handsets from Sept 29 to Oct 1. Tickets will be released for public sale from Oct 2 onwards.
